Z-free: Rea-Liina Brunou
Z-free is Zodiak's unique event concept where selected artists are given the opportunity to present their working methods, work on their ideas and engage the audience in the creative process. In autumn 2016, a Z-free demonstration is given by Rea-Liina Brunou.
Pedestrian Ballet is a work in prgress -performance based on a movement method developed by Rea-Liina Brunou. It takes as its starting point personal observations on what being a dancer means and on the dancer's body in relation to the history and the convention of ballet. The notion underlying the method is the idea of walking as a somatic exercise. The work is presented in z-free in a way that enables audience participation, and takes place partly outdoors. The perfomance language is Finnish, but the performance can also be followed without the audio track.
The work will premier at the XS Vol.8 Festival in Turku on Novemeber 26, 2016.
