The course will be taught remotely through Zoom.
In this workshop, you are guided from your home space, to embody, perceive and explore the shifting relations with space, time, the self and other beings and things. We work from versions of home: both as a concept of subjective meanings, as well as the physical space itself, which allows the layers of experience to inform and create shifts in the physical and shared environments.
The focus asks how one can jump into the space and the imagination through the layered landscape of relatedness at home, meeting new embodiments along the way. The imaginary is accessed through varying entry points and allowing. Through the Zoom platform we practice both doing and witnessing through guided, spontaneous, durational and improvised dances facilitated in solo, pair and group work, asking how taking space creates space, and how shared space can make a new space. We will be using various tools and embodiment practices with writing, drawing and some minimal theory. In moving in our own homes together, we greet the nuances of developing new artistic tools in this current climate.
All experience levels are invited to this workshop.
