Z-free: Mirva Mäkinen
Z-free is Zodiak's unique event concept where selected artists are given the opportunity to open up their working methods, work on their ideas and engage the audience in the creative process. In October 2015, Z-free demonstration is given by Mirva Mäkinen.
Mirva Mäkinen develops a performance under the working title Trio.
She engages in artistic study of the dancer's experience of being looked at. Trio explores a dancer's experience of intimacy, sensuousness, a moment or a space shared with the audience. Its starting points in terms of movement are contact improvisation and motion improvisation.
The essence of improvisation is opened in the moment of not-knowing; a moment that is often very fragile and intimate. Could art help human beings achieve closeness, help them become closer to each other?
