In the course led by Maija Reeta Raumanni, participants surrender to the action of dance that reaches equally inward towards the body and outward towards the space, filling the space and being influenced by it.

Proposal: If dance is time, space, and movement, could the action of dance be experienced as an endless process of shaping time, space, and movement? As a tension-filled, diverse, and interactive field of reality. As dance within oneself. As dance in relation to the surrounding environment. As an eventful and experiential landscape that allows for wonder, not-knowing, and permeability.

During the classes, we observe the flow, spirality, vibrancy, and weight of movement. We dance with our sensing skin and lean into ourselves, others, and the surfaces of the space. We tune in, dance, and recover.

The classes revolve around various guided movement improvisation and research exercises that vary from session to session. The working method allows for each participant to listen to their body and mind and take part however they seem fit. We dance both in silence and with music, individually and as a group. Exercises involving touch can also be performed without physical contact with others.
