During the course of Tuuli Vahtola, we dive into dance through different movement and improvisation exercises while listening to the group, the space, oneself, and the music.
We begin the course by exploring pleasure and unexpectedness in one's own movement. The classes focus on working with a wide range of arcs, variations, detours and unfoldings of movement. At times, the participants are also invited to experiment with using voice, gaze, and touch in their dancing. We will work individually and collectively, in interaction with other participants and the space. The course encourages the participants to move from their own needs and desires, explore without pressure, and take intriguing and unfamiliar steps.
