In autumn 2019, the W A U H A U S art collective produces a performance called Sapiens, based on historian Yuval Noah Harari's bestselling book of the same title, to the main stage of the Finnish National Theatre. The collective also offers two workshops for professionals that explore the themes of Sapiens at Zodiak during the autumn. Participants of the workshops are asked to see the performance at the national theatre before the course begins.

The Performance and Sound workshop explores different sound-based concepts used in the context of performing arts, and how sound can be used as the starting point of a performance. Course program features watching and listening to performances built on a sound-based concept, and analysis of the devices, structures and special features used in them. It seeks to open new avenues for creating and discussing sound-based performances, because using a sound-based concept as the foundation of an artistic performance is a challenge both to the choreographer and the sound designer as well as the performers, and calls for close teamwork and communication. One of the primary objectives of the workshop is to develop sound-oriented thinking and communication.
