This workshop conducted by Kati Raatikainen approaches motion through the various systems of the human body. We explore how different structures of the body, such as bones, muscles, connective tissues, thoughts, emotions and body parts (fingers, lungs...), move us. We explore and make observations of our dancing human bodies – and of our bodies as part of a physical and conceptual environment. We focus on our fellow dancers and the present moment, but also investigate our dancing human bodies as part of an ecosystem.
Improvised, choreographic motion exercises are used to build awareness and create physical freedom in relation to our own bodies and how they are attached to the world. The classes focus on exploration of the internal experience and tune in to the shared space and the situation, but also spend time enjoying the private yet simultaneously universal uniqueness of simply existing.

Kati Raatikainen is a choreographer and a dance and yoga instructor. In her artistic work she focuses on helping to flesh out existing choreographic phenomena to performances. Choreography may occur in the movement and organisation of both human and non-human beings. She is currently studying seasonal yin as part of advanced-level yoga instructor training.

Enrollment is binding. Cancellations must be communicated on the last enrollment day by 6 pm the latest. Please check this course's last day of enrollment from above. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than the deadline are subject to full course fee.
Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy). You can pay with the vouchers in the beginning of the first class or you can bring the vouchers to Zodiak office (open weekdays 11 am to 4 pm). It is not possible to pay the course fee with cash.
