In this senior course, Anna Mustonen will guide you through exercises that invite you to listen closely to your body, music, and shared moments. We will dance from our own place of experience, drawing from within while making space for others.
Each class begins with a gentle tuning-in exercise to awaken both body and mind. From there, we ease into verbally guided movement explorations that encourage you to dive into your own dance and surrender to how it feels. Let your perception sharpen and open to the space around you. Some exercises are closely connected to music, encouraging you to listen to both the music and your body simultaneously.
Anna Mustonen has extensive experience teaching dance and choreography at Zodiak, Tanssivintti dance school, and Uniarts Helsinki. In her classes, she strives to create a permissive and supportive atmosphere where everyone feels safe to explore and express themselves.
Anna is part of the artist-led communities i dolci and rendezvous. She graduated with an MA in Choreography from the Theatre Academy of Uniarts Helsinki in 2010, a BA in Dance from Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) in 2007, and as a yoga teacher from Heartful Yoga Academy in 2018.
Her recent works include collaborations combining music and dance with harpsichordist Marianne Henriksson: Sfäärit (2025), Eros (2022), and Maria-vesper (2018), the last of which earned them the Finnish State Prize for Performing Arts in 2018.
Other works include Liike ja tyhjyys (Movement and Emptiness, 2023), created with Ami Karvonen and Kid Kokko; the choreography for Karvonen’s Asennot (2019); Noidankutu (2019), co-created with Rea-Liina Brunou and three children; and Ontto harmaa tanssi (2020), choreographed together with Veli Lehtovaara inspired by Olli-Pekka Tennilä’s poetry book Ontto harmaa.
