The course given by Liisa Risu explores the methods used in her performances Soiva/WKL (2013) and The Weight of Light (2015), in which both choreography and dance are based on musical notation. The methods are introduced in theory and with hands-on practice. Time permitting, personal applications of the methods can also be developed.
Choreographer and dancer Liisa Risu has worked extensively in the field of contemporary dance, theatre and circus since the 1990s. She has created modern dance and theatre choreographies, directed circus performances and performed as a dancer and a clown. Recently she has also worked as a teacher in the Theatre Academy at the University of the Arts Helsinki.
