Zodiak's open call for productions for the year 2028 opens on Oct 1, 2026. The deadline for applications is Sun, Oct 18, 2026.
General Instructions for Applying
Zodiak's performance programme is artistically curated. Curation and selections are mainly based on this open call, but part of the programme may also be built through direct curation or collaboration projects, for example.
Applications for the autumn 2026 call will be reviewed by Zodiak's Artistic Director Jarkko Partanen together with Curator Remi Vesala.
Categories and schedule
There are five production categories in this call:
- Zodiak Laboratory (autumn 2027 and spring 2028)
- Zodiak Stage S (2028 – spring 2029)
- Zodiak Stage M (2028 – spring 2029)
- Zodiak at Dance House Helsinki L (Pannu Hall) (autumn 2028 – spring 2029)
- Zodiak at Dance House Helsinki XL (Erkko Hall) (2029)
The application deadline for all categories is Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Zodiak's co-production model
Zodiak's co-production is based on partnership: Zodiak offers a structure, community, resources, and expertise within which the working group can focus on realizing their work.
Zodiak Laboratory
In the autumn 2026 call we are seeking proposals for the Zodiak Laboratory residency for autumn 2027 and spring 2028.
This residency concept offers a space for artistic experimentation without the pressure of an upcoming premiere.
Zodiak Stage S & M
In the autumn 2026 call we are seeking proposals for premiere productions in the Zodiak Stage S and M categories for 2028 and spring 2029.
Zodiak Stage is a category for small (S) or medium-sized (M) productions.
Zodiak at Dance House Helsinki L & XL
In the autumn 2026 call we are seeking proposals for premiere productions in the L category for autumn 2028 and spring 2029, and the XL category for 2029.
Zodiak Productions at Dance House Helsinki is a category for works whose Helsinki premiere takes place in Pannu Hall, or alternatively Erkko Hall, at Dance House Helsinki.
