4 FLOORS OF WHORES is a theater collective from Helsinki consisting of actors/performers Emilia Jansson, Herman Nyby, Astrid Stenberg and sound designer Riku-Pekka Kellokoski. The group's aesthetic and working methods lie at the intersection (specifically the street corner) of physical theater, contemporary choreography, sound art and performance art. Moving between sensuality, care, humour and obscenity, their works approach the theatre as a testing ground for embodiment, desire and social conventions and as a space for unruly forms of togetherness, epic contemplation and carnal knowledge. The collective, founded in 2021, collaborates with artists and institutions both in Finland and internationally. Their works have been presented at e.g. Hangö Teaterträff, Teater Viirus, Baltic Circle, Anti-festival, Tehdas Teatteri, Tampereen Teatterikesä, Teater Institutet (SE), KONTRÄR (SE), Göteborgs stadsteater (SE), Kanuti Gildi Saal (EE), The Gender House Queer Arts Festival (DK), Sort/Hvit (DK) and DanseFestival Barents (NO).
Joel Teixeira Neves deals with human interaction in his art. Teixeira Neves wants to create art where those participating in the performance can pause at familiar moments and explore interactions on a deeper affective level. The dance performance Voyeur (2017), directed by Teixeira Neves, approaches interaction through the gaze. The performance premiered in 2017 and has been performed four seasons on five different stages. Last time on the stage of Tanssiteatteri-MD in Tampere in fall 2025. The project PETTiNG is designed and initiated by Teixeira Neves. The work continues the theme of Voyeur, focusing on touch. The goal of the performance PETTiNG is to get under the skin of each participant.
The working group of the performance PETTiNG includes director Joel Teixeira Neves, the theater collective 4 FLOORS OF WHORES, musicians Tytti Roto and Ville Valavuo (Modem), costume designer Tiina Rikala and lighting designer Katinka Ebbe.
The work will premiere in Zodiak Stage, in Spring 2027.
