Dancer Ty Boomershine teaches a professional masterclass consisting of a daily technique class and a workshop about the methodology and process specific to the work of Lucinda Childs.
Boomershine's class is framed by the structure of a Cunningham class as well as incorporating elements from the many choreographers he has worked with. The class focuses on rhythmic, spatial, and physical clarity, combined with a sense of coordination and multi-tasking through the body.
After this intense and challenging class, the workshop focuses on to study, share and show the scores of Lucinda Childs along with video documentation for one to understand how she uses the two-dimensionality of a written score to enhance and develop choreographic approach.
Ty Boomershine has worked with several choreographers and companies, such as Dan Wagoner, Merce Cunningham repertory ensemble, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane & Co, Emio Greco | PC, and currently with Lucinda Childs Dance. He assists Lucinda Childs in setting her works in Europe and the United States, and teaches workshops and masterclasses.
