What do we need to talk about now, and how do we do it? Conversations is a performative format of gathering around collective matters of concern.

Before arriving in Helsinki for the Side Step festival, Eleanor Bauer will lead Conversations workshop also in New York as part of Movement Research's MELT.

Sometimes the conversation is carried out in speech. Sometimes the conversation takes place through dancing. All in attendance determine the content and medium of conversation. This includes you. Indefinitely in-progress and durationally indefinite, Conversations is not an authored piece, but a continually shared process. In this workshop we will explore and develop the format together, and then practice sharing it with a public.

For the last hour of the workshop on Friday 10 February at 15.00-16.00, the audience is invited to join. Observation is also a form of participation.  You are all welcome to share the process of the workshop!

This workshop will be led in English but other languages can be used during the workshop since Conversations is an experimental format.
