This Indulge the Movement - Intensive -course explores the practice used in the work "Lampi 2" that will premire on Zodiak Stage 22nd of October, 2026. The choreographer Annamaria Häkkinen, the dancer Johan Högsten and the sound designer Eliel Tammiharju will be instructing the course.
Lampi 2 (Pond 2), created by Eliel Tammiharju and his working group, is a sound design in which notes hide until revealed by dance. In this work, equations of music are proven by forms of sound, dance and crystals The work uses Tammiharju’s method of lacking sound. In this method, every disappearance reveals a secret. Rather than absence, lack is a composed incompleteness that only a performance can make complete.
This intensive course will showcase the practices used in the choreographical material of the piece "Lampi 2". The three first classes are instructed by the choreographer Annamaria Häkkinen and the dancer Johan Högsten. In the last class the sound designer Eliel Tammiharju will join the course.
Indulge the Movement – Intensive courses are mainly instructed by the choreographers and performers of Zodiak's previous, current and upcoming season's performances. The intensive courses are suitable for the people who have participated Indulge the Movement -courses before or have got to know contemporary dance in other contexts before.
All you need are comfortable clothes suitable for movement and a water bottle. During the classes, we dance barefoot or with socks.
Please note that from fall 2025 on, one cannot make up absences from the classes in the Indulge the Movement -courses. We encourage to you to take care that you can attend all the classes you've signed up to. Please note that you cannot arrive class later than 5 minutes past the starting time.
