Vice-dean, and professor Ari Tenhula has been selected as the next managing director of Zodiak – Center for New Dance. Zodiak’s board of directors made the decision on May 30. Tenhula will start in his new position on September 3.

Of the eight applicants, Tenhula fulfilled best the requirements set for Zodiak’s managing director. His comprehensive domestic and international networks, experience as an administrator, strategic abilities, as well as his vison and motivation, convinced Zodiak’s board.

Ari Tenhula has been active in the Finnish and international dance scene as a dancer and choreographer since the late 1980s. In addition to his awarded artistic career, Tenhula has worked as the artistic director of Helsinki Dance Company and curated the Moving in November Festival in Helsinki since 2006.

For the past ten years Tenhula has worked at the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki as the professor for contemporary dance, and since 2014 also as the vice-dean responsible of teaching at the Theatre Academy.
