What happens when two people come together with their wills, pulses and emotions?

The History of a Love is a sensitive duet arising from the personal love story of choreographer Hanna Pajala-Assefa and musician Abdissa “Mamba” Assefa.

Premiered in September 2013, this piece brings on stage the ups and downs, hopes, expectations, disappointments and discords of a relationship. Drawing from a timeless theme the choreographer and the musician boldly venture into each other’s artistic ground.

"The performers’ genuine presence gives the performance a unique atmosphere, as if walking on thin ice. A person fumbling in his or her emotions is fragile. ” - Raisa Rauhamaa, Teatteri&Tanssi 7/2013.

”In The History of a Love everything resonates music - heartbeats, skin, the floor and the drums.” - Maria Säkö, Helsingin Sanomat, Sept.29th 2013.
