Horrible Mixtures is a session that places the audience in the center. With choreographer Stina Nyberg as the host and the audience as the actor, the performance plunges into the potential of the spiritual to create a space for shared experience. Horrible Mixtures is a strangely intimate meeting, that communicates with the minds and suspended beliefs of a limited audience. Recognizing herself as deeply limited by natural explanations, Nyberg wonders what might be learned from the supernatural side.

Horrible Mixtures dives into the middle of belief and skepticism. The situation mashes up experiences, knowledges and sciences usually held distantly apart. Can revisiting ritual, communal and mental experiences create new shared fantasies between strangers? And can such experiences help us to bridge the imaginary gap between the body and the mind, the known and the unknown?

Stina Nyberg graduated from the MA programme in choreography at Stockholm's DOCH in 2012 and is working as a choreographer and performer as part of several collaborations. In Horrible Mixtures Nyberg use dilettante methods for mind reading and mediation. The piece looks for the capacity to imagine different connections between thoughts, language, fantasy, the future, bodies and spectators.
