In the senior course of Tiia Kasurinen, we enjoy music, work with exercises ranging from soft to dynamic, shake up the body, and experiment different layers – from each participant’s starting point.

The classes primarily consist of guided improvisation exercises that the participants can adapt to their own bodies and physical capacities. During the course, we also explore the motion material of Kasurinen’s upcoming work ONSTAGE. On this course no previous dance experience is required!

Tiia Kasurinen is a dancer, choreographer and artist who graduated from Stockholm University of the Arts in 2017. Her works explore the themes of identity, gender, power, and pop culture, often through theatre make-up and visual transformation. In her work, YouTube tutorials and somatic movement walk hand in hand, creating a recognisable aesthetic. Kasurinen's work has been presented at Zodiak – Centre for New Dance, Helsinki Festival, Reykjavik Art Festival and New Performance Turku Festival. When not working on her own projects, Kasurinen works as a dancer and performer in collaboration with other artists.
