Maija Hirvanen's workshop explores the artistic techniques she has developed for her series Epic Failing. Each participant adapts the techniques to his or her own background and objectives. Like Hirvanen's Epic Failing, the workshop approaches failure as food for imagination, not just a necessary evil.
The workshop explores the choreographer's work and thinking through physical activities and discussion with special focus on collaboration between two individuals, in other words, the duet. The workshop also explores some of the more difficult questions involved in the preparation of a performance – the ones that are usually not discussed with the audience or workshop participants. The course also includes watching Maija Hirvanen's performance Epic Failing on 15 November at 3 pm and meeting the workgroup after the performance.
The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as participants with previous art and dance experience. No prior experience of artistic work is required.

Availability is limited, so sign up in time! Welcome letters and invoices are sent to participants immediately after registration closes. Cancellations must be communicated no later than seven days before the course begins. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than seven days before the course or workshop are subject to full course fee.
Please bring a receipt of your course payment to the first meeting of your course. Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy).
