This three-day course explores the rehearsals of a new production called PAINI. Course activities include warm-ups and grips and holds for one, two and several wrestlers. We also try out movement series and free-form, civilised wrestling matches where winning is not important. Instead, the focus is on learning to feel one's own strength and that of the opponent, and playing with this.
The wrestling course is open for participants of all levels. No age, size or gender limitations apply. Preparations for matches include warming up slowly and trying out different techniques and rules. Each day starts with a discussion of the day's feelings and activities to make sure everybody knows how to take care of themselves and help their fellow wrestlers along.
Sound design and spatial design are crucial in wrestling. One of the sessions takes place on Zodiak Stage in the sound-world and the stage set of the performance PAINI. Please bring a snack and something to drink for yourself to the classes. Comfortable clothing is also required. Wrestling is done barefoot.
The course is linked to Anna Maria Häkkinen's, Lotta Suomi's and Sanna Uuttu's new performance PAINI (premiere 7 March), and the workgroup of the performance also participates in the course.

Cancellations must be communicated on the last cancellation day by 4 pm the latest. Please check this course's last day of cancellation from above. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than the deadline are subject to full course fee.
Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy). You can pay with the vouchers in the beginning of the first class (only exact amounts) or you can bring the vouchers to Zodiak office (open weekdays 11 am to 4 pm). It is not possible to pay the course fee with cash.
