This workshop focuses on awakening the bodily imagination and producing experiences of enjoyment and flow through motion. Course curriculum includes exercises based on tai chi that awaken the flow of energy in the body, activities that strengthen the core and the rear sections of the body, and improvisation tasks that support bodily articulation and help the participants establish a connection to motion that is both present and pleasurable and opens the bodily imagination. The course is open to all experience levels.

Johanna Nuutinen is a dancer based in Helsinki. She has created artworks in the form of films and performances in the intersections of visual and performing arts since 2011. She believes in the body and its ability to say everything that needs to be said.
In 2017, she was awarded a three-year artist grant by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, and she currently works as a freelance artist. She has previously worked in Finland’s national ballet for 15 years, appearing in several solo roles since being contracted in 2002. Her latest works include IRIS – Dance in the Fissures of Humanity (2017) and ANON – The Act of Waiting (2018).

Enrolment is binding. Cancellations must be communicated on the last enrolment day by 6pm the latest by email to zodiak@zodiak.fi. Please check this course's last day of enrolment from above. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than the deadline are subject to full course fee. An administrative fee, 10 % of the course fee, will be charged from all cancellations.
