What is the flip-side of perfection?

Ihana ja hieno (Wonderful and fine)
is the first co-production of the nationwide network of regional dance centers in Finland. This intensively physical piece, choreographed by Janina Rajakangas and performed by VAPAAkollektiivi, centers around the theme of perfection. What does striving for perfection result in? Does it make us all alike? Repetition, minimalism and explosive energy of five female dancers in unison. What does mean to fit in a group? Does it require perfect behavior?

VAPAAkollektiivi is a collective group of freelance artists from Tampere. Ihana ja hieno premiered at Tanssivirtaa-festival in Tampere in April 2012.
