In 1928 Brazilian writer and theorist Oswald De Andrade wrote the ‘Manifesto Antropofago’. In this manifesto De Andrade asks the question how we can deal with an invasive (colonial) culture? His answer: let’s not reject it: but rather eat it, digest it and shit it out in a different version. In this workshop we will examine how this principle of eating and transforming can be a political tool within the topics of today’s world. ‘Antropofagia’ is translated here to ‘reappropriation’.

We will create dance materials starting from popular videoclips and advertisment clips. During this workshop we will apply some transformative tools, inspired by the digital sphere, to the dance materials: glitch, saturation, cut/paste, cool criticality, etc.
